Secret Harbour Shopping Centre Invests In New Retail Facilities

Charter Hall Retail REIT is excited to announce that the Development Application for the expansion and refurbishment of Secret Harbour Shopping Centre has been approved by The City of Rockingham Council.
 
The approval provides the green light for a $53 million investment which will see the refurbishment of the existing centre, including the expansion of the existing Woolworths store. In addition, two new majors, Coles and Aldi will be added to the centre along with an array of specialty retailers totalling approximately 4,136 square metres of added retail and commercial space, providing a wider selection of shopping options for the local community.
 
Charter Hall Fund Manager Scott Dundas, said that the development application approval was an important milestone for the Secret Harbour Shopping Centre, retailers and the local community and will result in a first class shopping centre that will meet community needs into the foreseeable future.
 
Charter Hall Development Manager Will Green said:  “We are very excited to have received the development application approval and look forward to commencing the redevelopment in order to provide the local community with a new and vibrant shopping experience that will include a contemporary casual dining precinct.
 
“The approval marks the commencement of a major investment in the local area delivering over 250 local jobs and substantial economic activity,” Mr Green said.
 
Charter Hall is also in discussions with a number of retail and commercial tenants, some of which would be a first to the area. Construction is expected to commence early 2016.
